
Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of RK Darkhan Kydyrali told students about the development of Turkology
The Eurasian National University hosted a lecture by Darkhan Kydyrali, deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU on the topic "Development of Kazakh Turkology of the XXI century". The meeting was attended by the university students and faculty.
The scientist spoke about the stages of development of Turkology in Kazakhstan.
"Turkology is the history and economy of the Turkic states from the time of the Great Silk Road to the present day, their way of life, state architecture, and way of life," the lecturer emphasized.
Darkhan Kydyrali said that he began to be interested in this science, starting with reading Ilyas Yessenberlin’s works, Koishygar Salgarauly’s book "Altyn Tanba", with materials about the Turkic peoples in encyclopedias.
"Now I can't read books like I used to. I read most of the books at the university. The main foundation was formed in those years.
Such meetings with different personalities can enrich you with knowledge. After all, a person who has read 10 books can talk about them in 10 minutes at such meetings," the deputy said.
The famous Turkologist also shared his plans for the future and answered questions from students.
