ENU Admissions Office has started its work

The Admissions Office of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has opened its doors to applicants of the current academic season. The work of the Admissions Office was started by the Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of ENU Yerlan Sydykov.

University Rector focused on the features of this year admission. Thus, he noted that the number of students of the Eurasian National University depends on the admission of applicants. In this regard, this year, in addition to experienced and qualified university staff, more young people are being attracted to positions of technical secretaries, who can explain the admission conditions, including technical details, in an accessible way.

According to Ye. Sydykov, this year the composition of the Admissions Office has been updated by 60 percent and the greater part today are young people. They will have to work hard every day for three months, which will last until the issue of the rector’s order on admission of applicants to the university on August 28.

He also noted that 120 educational institutions have started their work in the country, the ENU Admissions Office has also officially started accepting documents, and 85 technical secretaries from among professors, teachers and staff of departments have been mobilized for this purpose.

“Last year, 73 thousand grants were allocated for the training of personnel with higher and postgraduate education under the state educational order. This year 88 thousand state educational grants were allocated within groups of education programs. As they say, “It is the cloakroom that the theatre begins with,” the university begins with the Admissions Office. Your warm faces, your intentions, your professionalism and culture will certainly have an impact on applicants applying to our university, and this moment, quite possibly, will remain forever in their memory.

This year 177 thousand young people left schools in Kazakhstan. Every year we have the largest number of grant holders who choose our university, and I hope this year will be the same. And here it depends on you whether the best of the best will come to ENU. I would very much like us to work in such a coordinated, competent, responsible way, so that on September 1 in the new academic year we could congratulate each other with the words “We have taken wonderful students.” I wish you success in your work this year!” - Head of the University summed up.

Rector also got acquainted with the work of the members of the Admissions Office, noting that all comfortable conditions have been created for applicants, including the fact that they do not have to stand in long queues as before, as a special information center is operating.

“Today, a responsible period begins for the Admissions Office: for the 2023-2024 academic year, special technical secretaries of the university are assigned to work on admission, members of the Admissions Office have started their services. Some function as technical programmers, and others accept documents from applicants in bachelor’s degree specialties. Each faculty has specialists in master’s and doctoral studies. ENU slogan is “Always reaching higher!”. I am sure that this year we will conduct the work of the Admissions Office at a high level. I wish you good luck, knowledge, competence and sincerely congratulate you on the start of the Admissions Office work,” Executive Secretary of the ENU Admissions Office Lyazzat Yegeubayeva said.

Moreover, a new paragraph to the standard rules for admission to educational organizations implementing education programs of higher and postgraduate education, i.e. without passing the Unified National Testing (bachelor’s degree) and comprehensive testing (industry-specific master’s degree), the rules for admission to higher educational institutions was for the first time approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 31, 2018, No. 600.

“On October 25, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of military-patriotic education of citizens. It refers to the possibility of providing educational grants by the university in order to support the Ministry’s policy of providing internal educational grants to higher education institutions to persons who have served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, analyzing the results of admission to the university over the past three years (2020, 2021, 2022), for the 2023-2027 academic years it is planned to accept 100 students in 36 groups of education programs of the university according to popular education programs,” Lyazzat Yegeubayeva said.
