Gumilyov Eurasian National University, and executor of the grant project AP23488671 "Linguistic Manifestations of the Ethnocultural Consciousness of Kazakh Youth", went on a business trip to the city of Nukus, Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the trip, a number of scientific and cultural activities were carried out:
On April 3, at the Ajiniyaz Nukus State Pedagogical Institute, within the framework of the project, a scientific-methodological seminar was held on the topic: “Ethnocultural Consciousness and Linguistic Identity: Research Methods through Interviews and Surveys.” The seminar was attended by students of the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs of the Faculty of Turkic Languages. The event focused on the connection between language and culture, qualitative research methods, and the development of students’ research skills.
On the same day, an associative experiment was organized as part of the project.
The experiment involved Kazakh students of the Faculty of Turkic Languages aged between 17 and 25. It was conducted through the Google Form platform. Participants were presented with a list of 100 ethnocultural words, and for each word, they had to write a single-word association. All responses were provided in the Kazakh language. The collected data were systematized to study the ethnocultural consciousness of Kazakh youth and will serve as a foundation for future comparative research.
On April 4, within the framework of the International Scientific-Theoretical Conference titled “The Spiritual Heritage of Abai and Its Influence on the Turkic World,” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a scientific report was presented on the topic: “Tradition and Innovation: Changes in the Linguistic Consciousness of Kazakh Youth.” The report provided a scientific analysis of the balance between traditional and innovative values in the linguistic consciousness of Kazakh youth, as well as their linguistic manifestations. The presentation examined the correlation between traditional and modern values in the linguistic worldview of youth and their expression through language, from a scholarly perspective.
At the end of the trip, a cultural and educational concert program was organized for the conference guests. An excursion to historical and cultural sites of the city of Nukus was also conducted, including visits to local museums and ethnographic centers.
As part of the event, the Rector of Ajiniyaz Nukus State Pedagogical Institute, Kuandyk Aytbayuly, presented a Letter of Appreciation to the Rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, academician Yerlan Battashevich Sydykov.
This served as a vivid example of scientific and academic cooperation between the two higher education institutions.
