
Seminar “Gambling addiction in Kazakhstan: Causes and Ways to Overcome It”

On April 8, as part of the Science Decade, a seminar was held on the topic “Gambling addiction in Kazakhstan: Causes and Ways to Overcome It”, conducted by Nursultan Bekzatovich Bayazitov — a first-year doctoral student of the Psychology program, addiction psychologist, Gestalt therapist, head of the mental health clinic Soul Clinic, member of the Union of Psychologists of Kazakhstan and the Association of Social Entrepreneurs, and author of scientific publications on the problem of gambling addiction .
Nursultan Bekzatovich is actively involved in the prevention and treatment of addictions, particularly gambling addiction:
* Conducts individual and group psychocorrectional programs;
* Develops original methods for working with gambling addiction;
* Engages in educational outreach among teenagers, students, and parents;
* Trains specialists in effective interaction with clients suffering from addiction;
* Organizes training and prevention events aimed at raising awareness of gambling risks and promoting healthy behavioral strategies.
The seminar was held in an interactive format and included:
* A lecture on the causes and psychological mechanisms of gambling addiction;
* Discussion of current statistics and the specific features of gambling addiction in Kazakhstan;
* Practical exercises and group work;
* Analysis of real-life cases and the search for solutions to overcome gambling addiction.
Students gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical tools to recognize signs of addiction, as well as algorithms for providing initial support to loved ones facing this issue.
