
Scientific Seminar on Digital Transformation Held at L.N. Gumilyov ENU



On April 9, 2025, the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov hosted a scientific seminar titled «Kazakhstani Society in the Context of Digital Transformation: Prospects and Risks» as part of an ongoing scientific project.
The seminar brought together faculty members, researchers, IT professionals, and international partners from the National University of Uzbekistan. The event served as a platform for discussing the challenges of digitalization in higher education, the development of digital competencies, ethical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence, and the implementation of inclusive digital solutions.
Four key presentations were delivered by Aigerim Nuralievna Ospanova, Kulshat Agibayevna Medeuova, Aibol Tileukhan, and Altynbek Akpanov. These talks highlighted research findings in the field of educational digitalization, including a unique project: the «Inclusive Guide» system designed to support students with special educational needs.
A special highlight was the presentation by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Kulshat Medeuova, focusing on research ethics and digital risks associated with AI. Particular attention was also paid to sociological survey results conducted among students, teachers, and business representatives, providing valuable insights into the impact of digital technologies on educational quality and graduate employability.

- Zhamanbalaeva Sholpan Yerbolovna, Doctor of Social Sciences, Deputy General Director for Scientific Affairs of the same institute,
- Khayriniso Khusanova, Doctor of Social Sciences, Professor of Sociology at the National University of Uzbekistan,
- Elyor Zaitov, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Sociology Department at the same university,
- Feruza Akhmedova, PhD, Associate Professor at the National University of Uzbekistan,
who highly appreciated the relevance of the seminar topic and emphasized the importance of comparative analysis of digital transformation practices across Central Asian countries.
The seminar concluded with a set of specific recommendations aimed at improving legislation, digital infrastructure, and educational practices amid ongoing digitalization.
The seminar was moderated by PhD lecturer Nurlan Baygabilov.
