Current aspects and trends of PR and advertising development in Kazakhstan discussed at ENU

The L.N. Gumilyov ENU hosted an international scientific and practical conference entitled "Current Aspects and Trends in the Development of PR and Advertising in Kazakhstan", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Onaigul Turzhan, poet, scientist, Professor of the Television and Public Relations Department, ENU’s Faculty of Journalism and Social Sciences.

The event was attended by representatives of the President’s Administration of RK, Senate of the Parliament of RK, Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, faculty and students of domestic universities.

The conference participants discussed such topical topics as "Global trends in modern PR and advertising: the impact of digital technologies and Big Data", "The use of artificial intelligence and neural networks in PR and marketing", "Informational, social and manipulative aspects of PR and advertising", "Problems of new media, Influencer marketing, brand content and storytelling strategies", as well as "Information and communication functions of fiction and current issues of linguistics in the information Society".

Congratulations from the President of RK Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and State Adviser Yerlan Karin were voiced by the Adviser to the President of RK, Academician of NAS RK, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Omarov. Congratulations from Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of RK Maulen Ashimbayev were read out by Adviser to the Chairman of the Senate Zhasulanbek Mailybayev. Executive Secretary of the “Amanat” Party Daulet Karibek spoke on behalf of Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of RK Yerlan Koshanov. ENU Rector, academician Yerlan Sydykov, congratulated the hostess of the event on behalf of the scientific community of Kazakhstan. Congratulations and memorable gifts from the akim of Mangystau region were also presented.

The purpose of the conference was to discuss topical issues in the fields of PR, image studies, information immunity and information attacks, intercultural communication and management, as well as ensuring the quality of higher education in the context of global changes. Special attention is paid to highlighting the professional path and scientific achievements of Onaigul Turzhan, the formation of a sense of patriotism and interest in science among young people.

The conference moderator, ENU Professor, Academician Dikhan Kamzabekuly emphasized the importance of the event and said that the meeting was dedicated to the anniversary and the work of poet and scientist Onaigul Turzhan. Then ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov presented the hero of the day with the university’s highest award, the Kultegin medal for her contribution to the development of science.

Academician Bauyrzhan Omarov analyzed the jubilee’s life in detail, noting her journalistic activities and connection with print media. He spoke about her service in Karaganda, about the stages of professional growth and emphasized her talent in poetry and achievements in pedagogy, education of hundreds of students.

"It is pleasant to realize that Onaigul Turzhan is a poet who knows both the inner essence of poetry and its external structure. This feature makes it unique. She deserves special respect as a person who devoted her life to the development of Kazakh literature. I wish her continued success in science and literature, longevity and inspiration. Happy anniversary!" Sharkhan Kazygul, a writer and publicist, the first winner of the independent literary award "Metsenat.kz" said.

Representatives of universities from Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan took part in the conference. Doctor of Philology Aigul Ismakova, publicist Sharkhan Kazygul, Candidate of Philology Nagbdu Kamarova, PhD Alma Sailaukyzy, as well as foreign scientists Kleopatra Filipova de Jorge (Spain) and Ashur Ozdemir (Turkey, online) presented their congratulations and reports.

"I bow my head to you for appreciating my work and taking the time to join. It is a great honor for me to host the conference and be awarded the Kultegin medal. I sincerely thank Rector Yerlan Battashuly, the Faculty of Journalism and the department where I work. I am sure that our university will achieve even greater heights," Onaigul Turjan concluded.

Within the framework of the conference, a documentary film about the life and work of O.Turzhan was shown, as well as a presentation of her book "Methodology and Features of Logical Design in the Research of Archaic Kazakh Mythology by Serikbol Konybai". Students of the hero of the day read her poems, and singers Zinat Kasymova from the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev State Academic Philharmonic and Alpysbek Onaibayev, who came specially from Mangistau, performed songs.
