Professional Development Courses for University Library Staff Held at the Scientific Library

From April 14 to 25, the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University’s Scientific Library hosted professional development courses titled “The Role of the University Library in the Modern Educational and Research Environment.”
The training was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both online and offline participation. The courses were jointly organized by the Institute of Continuing Education and the Scientific Library.
Library staff from universities in Astana and Karaganda participated in the program. Over the 72-hour course, participants attended lectures, engaged in practical sessions, analyzed professional case studies, and discussed current issues related to the development of library services in the context of digital transformation.
The course program covered a wide range of topics, including the regulatory and legal framework of library operations, the use of digital resources and scientometric tools, modern cataloging standards, and issues related to the management and strategic development of libraries.
Special attention was given to the development of practical skills and competencies, as well as to the rules and methods for creating bibliographic records, which are essential for supporting the university's educational and research processes effectively.
Participants received recommendations for accreditation preparation, took part in sessions on searching for information in licensed digital resources, and practiced the application of scientometric platforms.
Upon completion of the training, all participants received certificates confirming their qualification upgrade and readiness to apply the acquired knowledge in their professional practice.
Conducting such courses contributes to the development of the professional potential of library specialists and the enhancement of information support for educational and research processes at the university.
