
Republican Ecology Olympiad at ENU



































From April 28 to 30, 2025, the II stage of the XVII Republican Subject Olympiad is taking place at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University among students of Kazakhstani universities in the 'Ecology' educational programs. The event is organized by the Department of Environmental Management and Engineering of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The goal of the Olympiad is to enhance the professional training of students in environmental protection, develop their scientific potential, foster sustained interest in solving environmental problems, and support talented youth focused on research and practical activities.
25 student teams are participating in the Olympiad, consisting of 75 students and 25 scientific advisors from various regions of Kazakhstan. The Olympiad is held in Kazakh and Russian, with 13 teams competing in Kazakh and 12 in Russian.
The first stage of the Olympiad took place on April 28 and included testing in the disciplines of 'Geoecology', 'Environmental Monitoring', 'Industrial Ecology', and 'Environmental Regulation and Expertise'. Today, April 29, the second stage is underway — the defense of scientific projects on the topic: 'Climate Change Research: Analysis of Causes and Consequences, Development of Innovative Solutions and Adaptation Strategies'.
The participants were welcomed by Ardak Beisenbai, Member of the Board – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Zharas Berdenov, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The Olympiad is held in a spirit of scientific cooperation and intellectual competition, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the development of ecological thinking among students.
