A delegation from Yale University visited the Eurasian National University
The delegation included professors, managers and students. The guests were greeted by Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Duman Aitmagambetov, deans of faculties, heads of departments and directors of departments.
During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation in the field of student and teacher exchange, joint scientific and educational events, as well as mutual research.
ENU’s Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Duman Aitmagambetov noted:
"We have special programs of state support for scientific research - mega grants. One of the requirements of this program is the availability of foreign partners. At the moment, ENU is implementing such a megagrant. You can act as our partners in this field.
The second area of cooperation is summer schools. Our university has experience in conducting international summer schools. I think it might be interesting to you.
In addition, Kazakhstan has an international Bolashak program. ENU researchers are constantly studying at the world's leading universities within the framework of this program. We can consider this option of cooperation," Vice-Rector said.
David Engerman, an international interdisciplinary professor of history at Yale University, emphasized:
"We want to expand research on Central Asia by inviting researchers interested in the environment of this region. This is the first year of the initiative. We came here to create connections in the region. Our main priority is the implementation of basic intellectual exchange, mutual exchange during conversations.
We are interested in holding a workshop for young scientists. In the future, we want to bring together all young scientists from this region in Central Asia to work with each other.
In addition, we have students working individually. They will come to Central Asia soon to conduct their research.
We can work to support our students to the extent that your students are interested in the opportunity to come to the USA. We would like to be able to integrate them into our intellectual community," the scientist noted.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in more detail some details of cooperation.
