ENU and Nanning Normal University have agreed to train personnel in natural sciences and IT

The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University was visited by a delegation from Nanning Normal University headed by President Long Guangqing.

During the meeting with the guests, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov expressed gratitude to the delegation for the visit and spoke about the cooperation of the Eurasian National University with China.

"Since the early days of the formation of modern Kazakhstan, China has been one of the key strategic partners. The Head of our state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attaches great importance to the development of cooperation within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative. In this context, our meeting demonstrates the enormous role of education and science in the development of mutual understanding and cooperation between our countries.

The University actively cooperates with Chinese universities in the framework of scientific and educational projects, academic mobility programs, joint education programs and attracting foreign specialists. Currently, we are actively cooperating with 29 universities in China in such areas as academic mobility, research activities and faculty exchange. Since 2007, the Confucius Institute has been successfully operating on the basis of ENU, which has become a bridge of friendship and cultural exchange, which has trained more than 14,000 students in 17 years.

Another important project is being implemented jointly with the Tianjin Vocational Institute - Luban Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence," Yerlan Sydykov said.

According to the ENU Rector, relations with Nanning Normal University are a prime example of successfully developing international cooperation. In the 2023-2024 academic year, ENU expanded its cooperation with Nanning Normal University by signing cooperation agreements and developing joint educational programs with a double degree in three fields of study: chemistry, applied chemistry and biology.

Yerlan Sydykov noted the opening of the representative office of the Eurasian School of Science and Technology at ENU on the basis of Nanning Normal University, which provides new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as obtaining high-quality education for students and teachers.

Long Guangqing, President of Nanning Normal University, spoke about joint educational projects between China and Kazakhstan.

"The main purpose of our visit is to discuss specific issues of educational and scientific cooperation, the organization of the educational process and student work within the framework of the joint institute. The specialties chosen for cooperation between our universities are biological sciences, chemistry, and applied chemistry, areas where our advantages are particularly strong. I hope that by combining our educational resources, we will be able to train highly qualified specialists with a solid theoretical base, innovative thinking, practical skills and an international outlook in these areas, providing intellectual support for the development of new industries of advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine and other fields. Our university intends to deepen cooperation with your university in the field of teaching and research in biology and chemistry, while taking into account the development of artificial intelligence," Long Guangqing emphasized.

During the visit, the Chinese delegation also got acquainted with the Faculties of Natural Sciences and Information Technology and visited ENU’s Confucius Institute.
