ENU students and teachers took part in the discussion of the book "Tida" at the National Academic Library

On 28 May, the National Academic Library hosted the presentation of the novel “Tida” by a writer from Kzyl-Orda, Zhanuzak Tursynbayev. Tursynbayev is the author of four books “Tida”, “Strings over the Abyss”, “Sands of Oblivion”, “and Fascination”. Two books are translated into English, are sold on “OZON”. Fragments of the books are available on the “Litres” platform.
Students and teachers of ENU, students and residents of medical university “Astana”, Neurologists and Psychiatrists, representatives of association of parents of children with mental disorders took part in discussion of the novel “Tida”.
The book “Tida” is about a doctor's crisis that came with the death of his son suffering from cerebral palsy. Friendship with a colleague, support from his wife and folk wisdom helped him not only to overcome his personal crisis, but also to become a support for an autistic boy named Kanat, the namesake of his tragically deceased son. The novel raises many issues: about whom to consider a true friend, about writing, about faith, about trials and victory over oneself. But most importantly, the picture of the world invented by the novel's hero, teenager Kanat, and the world he invented and named Tida, makes the reader look at the world around him and understand personal responsibility for the children who have had such a trial. To see the world through their eyes, children with mental disabilities, and understand the importance of integrating them into the normal world. This is not a book about adaptive Medicine; it is a book about compassion and mercy, tolerance and understanding of how defenseless one is in the face of such an ordeal.
Tursynbayev told about other books. They are about the life of Korkyt Ata, about the intertwining of the destinies of people and the dog Ak Suek, when the main character - shepherd, comprehending the secrets of happiness through simple earthly joys, shares this gift and thus ‘create a miracle’. The novel ‘Waning’ is about how the Kobyz becomes a symbol of the hero's search for harmony. According to the writer's confession, all his books are born from the desire to share the innermost things in the language of sources, native culture. Asserting Korkyt Aga as a carrier of sacred knowledge and philosophy of Kazakh identity, presenting the world of the imaginary as a source of light, Tursynbayev follows the law of success of the writer and dialogue with the reader, which he discovered: it is mystery, wonder, and authenticity.
Interested and lively discussion of the novel “Tida” showed that the book has a wide audience. Each reader will find his or her own in it: fans of legends, fantasy, mythology and history. The book of our contemporary tells about eternal questions of existence, relevant for people of any nationality and religion, of any age and with different hobbies.
