Why opt for ENU?

The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University is one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan, which provides a wide range of training programs and opportunities for students.

One question "Why ENU?" was asked to graduates, students and learners of the exchange program, and now we will find out the answer to it.

Today, about 20 thousand undergraduate students study at the university. Over the course of 29 years, more than 80,000 bachelor's degrees have graduated ENU.

Kamila Tortayeva, a student at the ENU’s Faculty of Law, explained why they choose this university.: "At school, when I was an 11th grader, I started thinking about where to enroll and which university to choose. There were several options for the specialty I was interested in. I read the reviews, studied the features of the training programs, and compared them. The conditions at ENU were most optimal."

Aliya Abisheva, a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of 2023, also shared why, upon graduation, she chose The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.: "I chose ENU because it seemed to me to be an excellent university for future development. And I was not mistaken, during my studies at the university I received knowledge and invaluable experience from the most interesting and educated teachers. I managed to find an interesting internship in my specialty, and the university gave me all these opportunities. Also, when choosing a university, I studied its rating, and the Eurasian National University attracted me with its achievements. There were many teachers at my faculty who studied and practiced abroad. It helped me to expand my capabilities and learn from the experience."

Over the entire history of the university, more than 70,000 specialists have graduated from the Master’s degree program. Nurislam Asanov, a 2025 graduate of the Faculty of Economics, explained why he decided to continue his studies at ENU: "I enrolled in a master's degree at the Eurasian National University for several reasons. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2023, I enjoyed my studies, and without thinking twice, I applied for a master's degree to the same university. The teaching staff left me with only good impressions, it gave me confidence in obtaining high-quality knowledge."

Every year, about 300 exchange students arrive through the "Welcome to ENU" program. Nikanor Atlas, a student from the Russian Federation, explains why he chose this particular program: "As it turned out, Northeastern Federal University has many programs for students who want to do internships at universities in China and Kazakhstan. After comparing the answers of my friends, I came to the conclusion that the ENU program was closest to me, since, according to the stories, studying at this university tended more towards practice and creativity, rather than ordinary lectures. I've always loved creativity, and no matter how strange it may sound, I wanted to get away from boring classes and find out "how you can learn in a different way."  In addition, I have always been interested in the culture of Kazakhstan due to its proximity to mine, the Yakut one. I enjoyed literally everything here: getting to know each other, studying, spending time with groupmates and attending various events in the Kazakh language. I am very glad that I got this chance, and I will remember Kazakhstan and ENU for a long time."

Based on these answers, we can say that they choose ENU because of various aspects, but no one regrets their choice and they remember their student years only from the good side.
