Graduation Ceremony Held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University’s Faculty of International Relations, Department of Oriental Studies
A solemn graduation ceremony was held at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University for graduates of the Faculty of International Relations, Department of Oriental Studies.
The event was formally opened with welcoming remarks from ENU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Ardak Beysenbay, on behalf of the Rector of the University, Yerlan Sydykov. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to the graduates for their future endeavors.
This year’s ceremony took on a distinctly international dimension, featuring participation from prominent diplomatic representatives: H.E. Dr. Montaser Abu Zeid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Kazakhstan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Kazakhstan; Dr. Jaber Najm Abdullah Al-Temimi, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kazakhstan; Captain 2nd Rank Kim Jong-hae, Military Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan; and Mr. Tamer Adnan Farhan Al-Ahmedi, Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kazakhstan.
Degrees were presented to graduates of the Department of Oriental Studies by Miras Kossybayev, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, and Professor Kayirken Tursunkhan of the Department of Oriental Studies. Colonel Askhat Umarov, Deputy Head of the Military Department at ENU, also congratulated the graduates and conferred reserve lieutenant military ranks upon them.
The ceremony marked a significant event not only for students and faculty but also for the diplomatic community, as many graduates represent foreign nations. The participation of high-level international guests highlighted the importance of global cooperation in education and research, further strengthening the university’s status as an international academic hub.
In their addresses, the diplomats expressed gratitude to the teaching staff and extended congratulations to the graduates, emphasizing the critical role of humanitarian, scientific, and cultural ties between nations.
H.E. Dr. Montaser Abu Zeid, Ambassador of the State of Palestine and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Kazakhstan, expressed deep appreciation to Dean Miras Kossybayev and Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, Gulnar Birimkulova, for their valuable contributions to the development of international academic cooperation.
Presenting a Certificate of Appreciation, Ambassador Abu Zeid acknowledged the significant role of the Department of Oriental Studies in fostering scientific and educational collaboration between the two countries.
Dr. Jaber Najm Abdullah Al-Temimi, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Iraq, also expressed sincere thanks to the Department of Oriental Studies for its substantial contribution to mutual understanding and friendship between nations. In his remarks, he emphasized the department’s vital role in advancing international academic cooperation and expressed hope for the continued strengthening of this partnership.
The ceremony concluded with a celebratory concert featuring performances by student creative groups.
