
ENU meets with Regional Director of QS Following the recent publication of the QS WUR 2026 Results

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) recently hosted a meeting with Sergey Khristoliubov, Regional Director of the Quacquarelli Symonds ranking agency. The primary agenda was to discuss the results of the updated QS World University Rankings 2026, where ENU continues to strengthen its position. This year, ENU secured the 317th spot.
During the meeting, key ranking indicators were analyzed, including academic reputation, research productivity, international collaboration, and employer engagement. Special attention was given to the new and increasingly significant “Sustainability” indicator, which reflects the university’s contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The university’s leadership attended the meeting, including D. Aitmagambetov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization; A. Beisenbay, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; N. Aidargaliyeva, Vice-Rector for Finance and Investments; as well as directors of departments involved in ENU’s promotion in the QS international rankings. These departments included the Department of Academic Affairs, the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Science, the Center for Sustainable Development, the Press Office, and faculty coordinators responsible for international rankings.
Sergey Khristoliubov noted positive changes in the university’s performance across several indicators, including International Students, International Faculty, and Employer Reputation. He also emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to fostering a sustainable university environment. ENU representatives, in turn, shared current initiatives in sustainable development, encompassing environmental, social, and governance projects.
The university’s leadership expressed gratitude to QS for their cooperation and reaffirmed ENU’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education, scientific research, and sustainable development.
It is worth noting that in the QS World University Rankings 2026, published on June 19, 2025, by the global higher education analytics agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University improved its standing, securing the 317th position among the world’s top universities. For the second consecutive year, ENU has demonstrated continued growth in the competitive international landscape, strengthening its potential and regaining its position from before the QS methodology update.
ENU also continues to show strong progress in the Employer Reputation criterion, entering the top 100 globally for this indicator.
