
ENU student won the World Junior Powerlifting Championship

Ninel Ablayeva, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, won the World Junior Powerlifting Championship. She was recognized as the best in the 57 kg weight category and defended the title of Master of Sports of international class. More than 600 athletes from 55 countries are participating in the World Championship.
ENU student Ninel Ablayeva once again brought a gold medal to the piggy bank of our country’s national team. She showed the best result – 400 kg in three exercises: squat – 155 kg, bench press – 82.5 kg, deadlift – 162.5 kg and defended the title of Master of Sports of international class.
Last year Ninel Ablayeva won two gold medals of the powerlifting championship. The athlete has been engaged in powerlifting for about 2 years. Before that, she was fond of hand-to-hand combat for 4 years. She was a prize-winner of Kazakhstan, a silver medalist of the world and a champion of Asia, has the title of master of sports, as well as the title of CMS in hand-to-hand combat.
It should be noted that the World Powerlifting Championship is taking place in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. Athletes aged from 14 to 23 are taking part in it.
