A new student dormitory with 354 places will open its doors at ENU by the beginning of the academic year

By the beginning of the new academic year, a modern student dormitory with 354 bed-places will start functioning  at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The hostel, located at 13a, Pushkin St., Astana, will welcome first students this academic year.

The new student dormitory was built as part of a public-private partnership with the participation of a private investor, “Bastau Partners.kz” LLP. The five-storey building with a total area of 4,421 sq. m. has 118 rooms for three people each. The dormitory is fully equipped with furniture, household appliances and internet. Surveillance cameras are installed on all floors. There is also a coworking area, a reading room, sanitary facilities, a laundry room and a kitchen.

Rector Yerlan Sydykov noted that the construction of the new dormitory will be part of a large-scale program to provide students with affordable and comfortable housing:

"We have completely resolved the issue of providing students with places in dormitories. This became possible thanks to the close cooperation of the government, private investors, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Mayor's Office of Astana and the JSC “Financial Center”. Every student can not only receive high-quality education, but also live in good conditions," Rector emphasized.

Director of “Bastau Partners.kz” LLP Zhasulan Manenov expressed his joy over the company's contribution to the development of the country's educational infrastructure:

"Today's student is tomorrow's leader. Some are glad that we were able to create modern, comfortable and safe conditions for them. Last year, we already started a 358-bed dormitory on Zhumabayev Street. The new facility is a continuation of a successful experience," he said.

The new dormitory was visited by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Sayasat Nurbek, Rector Yerlan Sydykov, representatives of the Akimat of Astana, “Financial Center” JSC, deputies of the city Maslikhat and others, noting the successful fulfillment of the President’s instructions.

In the same year, the total number of places in student homes increased to 8,500, which makes it possible to fully meet students’ housing needs.

Check-in schedule for the 2025-2026 academic year:

1-year students: August 25-27

2-year students: August 25-31

Students from socially vulnerable categories: August 28-29.

During the summer, all dormitories underwent ongoing renovation work.

The cost of living in student dormitories in the 2025-2026 academic year will range from 200,000 to 400,000 KZT per year. This price level is determined based on market conditions and rising operating costs.

In addition, for the period of submission of documents for applicants and their parents, the university will operate a Situation Center offering temporary accommodation for 1-3 days. The Center operates 24/7.
