ENU now has a Lu Ban workshop

In September 2025, the Lu Ban workshop will open at The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The delegation from China got acquainted with the state of readiness of the workshop in ENU.

The delegation, led by Meng Zheng, Deputy Director of the International Exchanges Department of the Tianjin Vocational Institute, was met by ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov and Vice-Rectors of the university.

The Lu Ban workshop is being created at the Eurasian National University in cooperation with the Tianjin Vocational Institute. The agreement on this was reached during the conference "Development of Global Vocational Education", held in China.

The Lu Ban Workshop is an innovative educational platform that will promote cooperation between Kazakhstani and Chinese enterprises, exchange experience in the field of vocational education, develop technical personnel, expand employment opportunities and career growth for Kazakhstani youth. Artificial intelligence technologies will be used in the workshop's activities.

Gulmira Bekmanova, ENU’s Vice-Rector for Digitalization, noted that the university’s teachers were trained in China as part of the international project "Lu Ban Workshop". The knowledge and experience gained will be useful for implementing best practices in educational and scientific processes, strengthening university cooperation and achieving professional results.

According to her, the training program in China lasted one month, and it is this knowledge and experience that will become the basis for the introduction of modern approaches within the framework of the Lu Ban workshop being created at ENU.

At the meeting, the goals and objectives of the project were explained, and the importance of the curriculum for launching laboratories in the field of artificial intelligence and introducing modern technologies into the educational process was emphasized.

Yerlan Sydykov noted that the participation of teachers in the Lu Ban Workshop project is an important step towards the digital transformation of the university and will contribute to improving the quality of IT education.

"The opening of the workshop can be called a symbol of friendship between the two countries. The project was implemented under the direct supervision of the Head of State," Rector said.

The Lu Ban workshop will be implemented within the framework of cooperation between The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Tianjin Vocational Institute.
