
On September 8, 2025, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev delivered his traditional Address to the people of Kazakhstan

The staff of the Institute of Physical and Technical Sciences at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University fully supports the initiatives outlined in the Presidential Address and is carrying out systematic work.
As our President emphasized: “We need to create the most intelligent system possible to prevent cybercrimes.” In line with this, a course on “Artificial Intelligence” has been introduced into all of the institute’s educational programs this academic year. In addition, the Department of Radio Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications has launched the Master’s program 7M06301 – Cybersecurity, which currently enrolls 21 master’s students.
In the field of nuclear energy, the institute trains qualified specialists under the Bachelor’s program 6B05305 – Nuclear Physics. Furthermore, this year the Master’s program 7M05309 – Radiation Safety and the Doctoral program 8D05240 – Radioecology were opened, with the first cohorts of master’s and doctoral students already admitted.
The Address also noted: “The concept of the ‘Smart City’ will undoubtedly be of great benefit.” In this regard, our institute is ready to contribute to the country’s development by training qualified professionals.
The Head of State also underlined: “It is necessary to increase the efficiency of satellite monitoring of agricultural lands using artificial intelligence.” In this direction, master’s students studying in the 7M07147 – Remote Sensing Technologies of the Earth program are expected to become professional specialists who will serve the country in the future.
Fully agreeing with the President’s statement that “the widespread introduction of artificial intelligence and comprehensive digitalization will multiply the potential of our country in all areas,” we are working diligently in this direction as well.
Moreover, as part of the “Digitalization Day” week, our institute plans to hold seminars on the topics: “Prospects for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Educational Environment” and “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Signal Processing.”
