
Russian Deputy Prime Minister visited ENU

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of RF, and Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of RF, visited the branches of Moscow State University and MGIMO University at ENU.
The guests got acquainted with the activities of the branches, met with students and teachers.
The event was attended by Talgat Yeshenkulov, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK, Yerlan Sydykov, Rector of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU, Alexander Sidorovich, Director of the Kazakh branch of MSU, vice-rectors, teachers, scientists and students.
"We are pleased that this year the MGIMO branch has accepted its first one hundred applicants. Congratulations on the start of the school year. Thank you to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for creating such conditions so that together we can help gain knowledge and build the future of our countries. All this is being done in order to preserve our brotherly and friendly relations. You, future scientists, diplomats, officials, and high-level leaders, must take a responsible approach to this," Dmitry Chernyshenko addressed the students.
The speaker stressed the importance of friendly relations between the two countries, focused on educational and scientific initiatives.
Talgat Yeshenkulov, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK, spoke about the relations between Kazakhstan and Russia in the field of science and education.
"Kazakhstani universities have joint projects under more than 1,400 agreements with Russian universities. We are engaged in opening branches of Russian universities in Kazakhstan. 8 branches are currently operating," Vice Minister noted.
Alexander Sidorovich, Director of the Kazakhstan branch of MSU, focused on the history of the branch's establishment and spoke about the tasks and plans.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also answered questions from students and listened to the teachers.
The Kazakhstani branch of MSU has been operating since 2001 on the basis of an agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Russia. It trains specialists in mathematics, ecology, economics, philology, and social and humanitarian disciplines.
