Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology at the ENU, using the example of Abai's work, presented a report at a conference at Moscow State University in Moscow

Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology at the Faculty of Philology of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University Kuralai Urazayeva made a presentation «“Cruel Romance and its transformation in Abai's song poetry» at the XI International Scientific conference «The Phenomenon of Creative Personality in Culture: Fatushenkov Readings», dedicated to the 270th anniversary of Moscow University and the 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor V. Fatushchenko. Methods for establishing the original origin of the song, including the melody, were presented, using tools from the fields of poetry, literature and cultural studies.
Reports of the 2nd year Master's students of the speciality «Literary Studies» – B.Khamzina and Z.Akmambetova, teachers of the state lyceum “Daryn” (Astana) were presented. Khamzina presented a report on “The Phenomenon of Creative Personality and Genre Innovations: Pushkin and the Formation of the Family Novel in Russian Literature”. The speaker drew attention to the topicality of the subject: contemporary philology and cultural studies are increasingly turning to the issue of family chronotope as a bearer of national cultural values and identity. In times of crisis, the category of family serves as a symbol of continuity and support, and its artistic embodiment in 19th-century texts becomes a source for the formation of national myths. Akmambetova presented a paper on “Fyodor Dostoevsky's ‘The Underground Man’ and the New Type of Hero in Russian Literature”. The presentation provided an overview of perspectives on the novel in Russian émigré criticism. Questions of the crisis of consciousness and the philosophical, cultural, and religious quests of the era formed the basis for an analysis of the archetype of crisis consciousness and transitional genre, a new type of hero in the writer's work.
The conference was devoted to issues of understanding, preserving and developing personal creativity in culture. Presentations were given based on comprehensive research into the philosophical, religious, historical, cultural, ethnic, folkloric, literary, and linguistic and art historical aspects of creativity as a culture-forming process underlying human creative activity. Preserving the memory of creative personalities whose transformative activities have made a significant contribution to national and world culture, and studying the image of the creative personality in artistic culture were the subjects of the presentations and discussions. The subjects of consideration included artistic texts, historical documents, spiritual traditions, artefacts, expedition materials, diaries, and various ego documents.
Russian scientists who have been collaborating with ENU for many years in the training of doctoral students and who are visiting professors attended the conference: Professor I.Mokletsova, Doctor of Philosophy of Moscow State University, and Professor V.Razumovskaya of Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk). The report by Mokletsova (together with postgraduate student A. Kashkova) was devoted to the image of “ideal space” in the work of the naive artist V.Sakiya. V.Razumovskaya's presentation, “Translating Joyce's Text as an Extremely Difficult and Creative Task”, focused on issues in translation studies. As a head of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Russian Translators' Union, V.Razumovskaya works closely with scientists and students from ENU and Kazakhstan within the framework of conferences and lecture courses on the training of specialists in legal, literary, scientific and technical translation, international cooperation, and the professional development of interpreters.
