30 pine saplings - dedicated to ENU’s 30th anniversary!

An environmental event was held at The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in honor of the university's 30th anniversary. As part of the event, organized on the initiative of the University's Ombudsman, Nelya Shapekova, 30 pine saplings were planted on the university campus.
The students of Silver University, deans of faculties, university veterans and residents of the city actively joined the green initiative.
During the campaign, the chairman of the private foundation "Grant the Earth a Garden", the head of the public association "Atameken-Rodina" Yuri Gashek shared with the participants his thoughts on the formation of an ecological culture, the importance of planting green spaces and respect for nature.
"Planting trees is not just a duty, it is communication with nature, taking care of the land. If we don't follow the laws of nature, we make mistakes. In fact, we need to establish a dialogue with the earth, and it will begin to share its secrets with us," eco-volunteer said.
Yuri Gashek also spoke about the project "Public Nursery". Previously, seedlings were distributed free of charge, but now certain conditions must be met to obtain them: to prove the readiness of the planting pit and the availability of an irrigation system. This is one of the ways to teach people to be responsible to nature.
According to the eco-activists, they have been cultivating trees for more than 20 years. During this time, tens of thousands of trees have been planted for the benefit of society, and more than 800 environmental events have been organized. Also, about 10 thousand children received environmental education.
Welcoming the participants of the action, the University Vice-Rector for Social and Infrastructural Development Lyazzat Tolegenkyzy emphasized the role of green spaces in the ecological condition of the city and the education of the younger generation.
At the end of the event, Yuri Gashek was awarded the Gumilyov medal, and certificates were given to the participants of the action.
It should be noted that this spring, the ENU, together with the “Grant the Earth a Garden” Foundation, held a tree planting campaign dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This initiative has become a natural continuation of a good tradition.
