
ENU shared its experience in implementing sustainable educational programs at the Baku summit









The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is strengthening its position in the field of sustainable development by participating in THE Eurasia Universities Summit 2025, held on September 24–25 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The summit, organized by Times Higher Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, brought together leading universities and research centers from Europe and Asia to discuss transnational research and its global impact.
The main theme of the summit was “Transnational Research: From Knowledge to Global Impact.” The event brought together over 350 participants, including more than 50 experts and representatives from over 150 organizations across Europe and Asia. Particular attention was given to the role of higher education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to the opportunities for intercontinental collaboration and innovation.
At the event, the Sustainable Development Center of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University presented the university’s initiatives aimed at integrating sustainable practices into the educational process and scientific research. During the discussions, key topics were addressed, including climate change mitigation, the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the development of international scientific projects in the field of sustainability.
Participation in the summit enabled the university to:
• Expand international cooperation with universities and organizations that share the values of sustainable development;
• Exchange experiences and best practices in implementing sustainable educational programs;
• Gain momentum for launching new joint projects aimed at addressing global environmental and social challenges.
Thus, participation in THE Eurasia Universities Summit 2025 marked an important milestone in the implementation of the university’s sustainable development policy and in strengthening its position in international academic cooperation.
