
Supporting the Kazakh Film “Ystyk Uya”



To promote the spiritual and cultural development of students and to enhance educational activities, second-year students majoring in Psychology at the Faculty of Journalism and Social Sciences of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University attended a group viewing of the Kazakh film “Ystyk Uya” as part of their educational hour.
The film “Ystyk Uya” (directed by D. Karipov) tells the story of a young woman named Galiya who, after working in Korea for several years, returns to her native village. She dreams of starting a new life by building a home with the money she earned abroad. However, during a family gathering, differences in opinions, hidden grievances, and misunderstandings among relatives gradually come to light. Through this storyline, the film deeply explores themes of family relationships, trust and respect, humanity, and sincerity.
The film encourages viewers to reflect on the importance of family values, understanding, and mutual respect within society. Such educational events help students develop respect for spiritual and moral values, realize the significance of human relationships, and foster a love for national culture.
After the screening, students shared their impressions and discussed the educational and life lessons portrayed in the film. This event became part of the cultural and educational activities of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University aimed at promoting respect for national art, family values, and moral principles.
As part of her pedagogical practice, the event was organized by A.T. Sarmanova, a master’s student of the “7M03103 – Psychology” program, under the scientific supervision of Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Almagul Ramazanovna Mandykayeva.
