ENU’s foreign lecturers and students planted trees

ENU Ombudsman Nelya Shapekova, together with the University's Department of International Cooperation, organized the planting of pine saplings, which were provided by Yuri Hasek, an eco-volunteer, head of the Atameken-Rodina public association, chairman of the private foundation "Give the Earth a Garden". He brought 30 pine saplings grown in his nursery especially for this event. The campaign was attended by foreign professors and international students studying under the "Welcome to ENU" and double degree programs. 16 visiting professors were given a personal certificate of the planted tree.
This event became a historic one for the university: for the first time, foreign professors and international students took part in planting trees on the territory of ENU, which symbolizes international cooperation, friendship and unity of the university family. The planting of pine saplings is not only a contribution to the greening of the campus, but also a living symbol of sustainable development, strengthening international relations and cultural exchange. The event highlights the importance of ENU's global cooperation and openness to students and scientists from all over the world.
The purpose of the event is to develop an ecological culture and strengthen international cooperation.
Senior lecturer of the Turkology Department Jofiya Siraki shared her impressions:
"Today we have actually taken care of nature and contributed to the formation of an ecological culture. In addition to planting trees, we danced and sang together with the students, creating a special mood and energy of the holiday. Such events strengthen the unity of the ENU staff and contribute to the establishment of warm ties between students and teachers," she said.
Maria Guretska, a 2nd-year student specializing in Oriental Studies, emphasized the importance of the campaign:
"Every tree planted is a symbol of a direct connection with nature, an opportunity to feel its mystery and show environmental responsibility. This is not only an environmental initiative, but also a way to strengthen trust and cooperation between students and professors," she said.
Then all the participants attended the evening "Culture and Music unite people", in the auditorium of the American corner of the Scientific Library, also organized at the invitation of ENU Ombudsman N.Shapekova, musician Jeff Hersh, who learned to play the dombra masterfully from New York (USA) and Aigerim Myrzakhmet, she is Jeff's teacher and the founder of the World Dombra Academy. The listeners were inspired by the culture and the traditional melodies and professional playing of the musician, who once heard the dombra and realized his dream of learning to play the dombra, which can speak the language of emotions.
