Successful entrepreneur contributed 10.5 million tenge to ENU Endowment Fund
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan noted that endowment funds at universities should become a key link in the development of the educational ecosystem. The ENU Endowment Fund, founded by university alumni, is actively developing and increasing its target capital today. Successful entrepreneur Bakytzhan Akan contributed 10,500,000 KZT to the endowment fund to support talented students.
ENU develops the continuity of generations and strengthens the connection between them. The university alumni actively support and take care of the current students of their alma mater. Entrepreneur Bakytzhan Akan replenished the target capital of the ENU Endowment Fund. The founder of the company “Akan Building” received in the walls of ENU his major in “Construction”.
“This year marks 20 years since I was enrolled in Eurasian National University for a major in construction. I spent a busy student life in the walls of the hostel. I had a state grant.
ENU Endowment Fund helps students in need, it is a charity. If tomorrow the people who received help at the time become successful and contribute to the development of the country, this will be the best reward for us. I urge all graduates to help their alma mater.
I want to tell the current students that an educated person will succeed in life these days. Therefore, invest in your knowledge, the future of the country is in your hands. Do not forget to live student life vividly and actively, because years later you will remember these years,” the entrepreneur addressed the students.
In connection with the historical event, the name of the graduate was placed on the Tree of Fame dedicated to the contribution of alumni and patrons to the development of the university.
It should be noted that the ENU Endowment Fund was founded in April 2022 by university alumni to support talented and needy students. At the same time, the target capital of the fund remains inviolable and has a cumulative nature. Financing of projects is planned only at the expense of the received investment income.
Today, the university alumni actively participate in the life of the university and contribute to the endowment fund, helping students as they themselves were in the past.
