Famous musicians Anar Muzdakhanova and Zhanar Zhussupova vizited ENU
The Otyrar Scientific Library of the Eurasian National University hosted a musical and creative meeting called “Sazdy Sukhbat” with the participation of two talented Kazakhstani artists - Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Knight of "Kurmet" Order, kuishi Anar Muzdakhanova and knight of “Kurmet” Order, kobyz player Zhanar Zhussupova. The event was attended by professors, lecturers, university staff and students.
The event was led by the head of ENU’s cultural and educational association "Kausar" Kenzhegali Myrzhykbai, who spoke about the life and creative path of the invited guests. He noted that 27 years ago, both artists worked at ENU, and expressed confidence in their continued creative flourishing.
During the meeting, Zhanar Zhussupova performed Korkut's kui "Ushardyn Uluy" and Ykylas’s"Koshtasu", and Anar Muzdakhanova performed Kurmangazy's work "Aksak Kiik", Estay’s "Kosh Aman Bol, Akbikesh", as well as her father Aitbai Muzdakhanov's kui "Darkhan Dala" and her own work "Oyan, Kazak", dedicated to 140 anniversary of Myrzhakyp Dulatuly. The joint performance of the two musicians caused thunderous applause: the audience felt a real uplift and inspiration.
"To be honest, the idea of composing a kuj dedicated to Myrzhakyp has been living in me for a long time," Anar Muzdakhanova said. "But it took a long time for the melody to arrive, the necessary impulse did not arise."
One day, Damir Yeltayuly, Head of the Kostanay Regional Center for Folk Art and Film Documentation, called me.
In the conversation, he said: "I have listened to several kuys dedicated to Myrzhakyp Dulatuly, but I think that it is you who should write your own, in your style. Consider this my request."
These words seemed to ignite a spark in me: the very next day, the melody began to flow by itself, and kui was born in just one day.
I called him "Oyan, Kazak", because this is the cry of awakening, addressed by Myrzhakyp to the nation, and to us, today's generation.
At the end of the event, ENU Professor Serik Negimov and Director of the Scientific Library Bakhytzhan Orazaliyev noted the special importance of the event. They stressed that such concerts are important for the education of students, and the venue, the Akseleu Seidimbek Hall, gives the event a special spiritual depth.
Thanks and memorable gifts were presented to the guests on behalf of the university.
"Education and upbringing are inseparable," the professor said. – As the great thinker of the East Abu Nasir al-Farabi said, "first of all, a person needs to be educated, not knowledge: knowledge without education is the enemy of humanity."
Great attention is paid to this at ENU: meetings with respected figures and spiritual and educational evenings are regularly held.
Today, the university has invited two talented daughters of the Kazakh people, Anar Muzdakhanova and Zhanar Zhussupova. For students, this is a real school of spirituality and culture.
In response, Anar Muzdakhanova and Zhanar Zhussupova thanked the university, the Kausar team and Kenzhegali Myrzhykbai personally for the warm welcome and superb organization.
"We know that ENU often hosts wonderful events. Zhanar and I have been performing together since 1997, and today it is especially pleasant to return here as guests," Anar Muzdakhanova said. – Such a concert and musical meeting are important primarily for young people. I like that at the university, students' spirituality is shaped through song, kui, and the personality of the masters. Our performance today is our gift for ENU’s 30th anniversary.
Kenzhe Zhumagulov, editor of the Eurasia University newspaper, shared his impression:
"It's great! It's been a long time since I've seen such a concert, as if I'd traveled across the great steppe.
By inviting Anar Muzdakhanova and Zhanar Zhussupova, it was as if we felt the spirit of Akseleu Seidimbek and the power of the Kazakh kuy again.
Kausar, under Kenzhegali Myrzhykbai’s leadership, is doing very useful work at the university. Many thanks to him for that!"
Journalist Bazarbek Tukibayev added:
"The impression cannot be conveyed in words! The program is fully prepared for a solo tour of Kazakhstan.
We had a lot of fun. I especially liked that the performers sang not only kuis of folk composers, but also their own works. I hope that after this concert in ENU we will see them on the big stage again."
