
A conference dedicated to the anniversary of Murat Auezov was held at ENU

The National Academic Library hosted the international conference on the “Topical issues of preserving national identity in the modern world”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Murat Mukhtarovich Auezov. Within the framework of the conference, the exhibition “A unique personality of the era” was opened.

Thinker, philosopher, literary critic, aesthetician, publicist, public figure, diplomat, literary and film editor Murat Auezov celebrated another anniversary as the author of over 200 publications on literature and philosophy of culture. The participants of the conference, the student friends of the hero of the day shared their memories of the history of the Zhas Tulpar movement, the subject of discussion were M. Auezov’s books “Connecting thread of time”, “Three advisers”, “Dilim”, dedicated to culture, civilization, nomadic culture, the oral heritage of the Kazakh people. The speakers highlighted the work of the hero of the day on the state TV channel “Kazakhstan”, the creation of the cultural almanac “Rukh-Miras”, his work as the first ambassador of Kazakhstan to China and the editor-in-chief of the Kazakhfilm film studio. The depth of research interests and the significance of the work done were noted. Attention was paid to the film “The Wanderer of Axial Time”, about an expedition from Alakol to the Aral Sea, with a visit to Khiva and Bukhara. The “master tuning fork” of the conference was the idea of peace and spiritual harmony as the main cause that M. Auyezov served all his life, that one of the brightest representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia is the embodiment of the descendant and successor of the ideas of the national intelligentsia of the 30s of the XX century.
The conference was attended by prominent public and political figures: Kuanysh Sultanov, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China, writers Bakhytzhan Kanapyanov, Amangeldy Kenshilikuly, famous scientists of Kazakhstan: Sembi M., Kadyrzhanov K., Ysmakova A.S., Naurzbayeva Z., Ananyeva S.V.
The Russian Federation was widely represented by: G.V. Pryakhin, writer, journalist, editor-in-chief of the publishing house “Khudozhestvennaya literatura”, E.Y. Sidorov, literary critic, Doctor of Cultural Sciences G. Karina, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of the P. Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Russia), I.V. Mokletsova, Professor of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, M.M. Polekhina, Professor of MGIMO, Andreeva V.V., editor of the journal “Issledovaniya yazyka i sovremennoe gumanitarrnoe znanie” (Language Studies and Modern Humanitarian Knowledge) (Institute of Foreign Languages of St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University named after A. Herzen). The audience was warmly welcomed by the relatives of the hero of the day: the famous orientalist Auezova Zifa Muratovna (Netherlands), Kunaev Diyar, Zhandosova Zhanar. Presentations were made by representatives of ENU ‒ Professor A.K. Ishchanova (Faculty of Journalism), Professor K.B. Urazayeva (Faculty of Philology).
