
ENU signed a number of contracts and agreements with universities at the scientific and educational consortium of universities of Kazakhstan and Belarus in Minsk

Representatives of The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in the tenth meeting of the Scientific and Educational Consortium of Universities of Kazakhstan and Belarus, held at THE Belarusian National Technical University.
The rector of The L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Yerlan Sydykov, delivered an online greeting to the consortium participants.
The ENU delegation includes Vice-Rector for Social and Infrastructural Development Lyazzat Tolegenkyzy, as well as representatives of the university's deans and structural divisions.
ENU is the coordinator of the consortium from the Kazakhstani side and plays a key role in the development of bilateral cooperation, academic mobility and the implementation of joint scientific and educational initiatives.
During the working meeting of the consortium, the results of the work done over the past period were summed up, prospects for further cooperation were considered, 5 agreements on the implementation of joint educational programs were signed, 5 new agreements and memoranda between universities were concluded, and a joint action plan of the Scientific and Educational Consortium for 2026-2027 was approved.
The consortium includes: Karaganda Medical University, Maqsut Narikbayev University, Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade (Yessil University), Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University and the Belarusian State University of Physical Training.
The total number of Consortium participants, including new members, is 32 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 33 institutions of higher education and research institutes of the Republic of Belarus.
The meeting was held in a solemn and constructive atmosphere, with the participation in a mixed format of representatives of universities from both countries, as well as officials and coordinators from both sides.
Representatives of ENU also participated in a round table held as part of the First Forum of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus on Radio Electronics.
This event was a logical continuation of the Cooperation Agreement signed on September 25, 2023 between the Republican Council of Rectors of Institutions of Higher Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Rectors of Organizations of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
Reports on various aspects of cooperation were presented during the round table. The key result was the signing of 8 bilateral agreements between universities, which will serve as the basis for new programs, academic exchanges and scientific research. The event was attended by the heads of ministries, leading and regional universities of Kazakhstan and Belarus.
At the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after A solemn ceremony was held to award the Belarusian-Kazakh Cultural and Educational Center named after the outstanding Kazakh teacher, educator and founder of the national education system Ibray Altynsarin.
The Center, opened on the initiative of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in 2018, has been successfully implementing joint projects throughout its activity, strengthening bilateral ties between universities in Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The ceremony was attended by the university administration, representatives of the Kazakhstani delegation, employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus, as well as students and teachers of the university. The event was accompanied by welcoming speeches, exchange of memorable gifts and discussion of further areas of cooperation.
BSPU also hosted a round table on the topic "Scientific and Educational Achievements of Kazakhstan", where participants exchanged experiences on training internships and research projects, as well as discussed the prospects for joint educational programs.
The parties stressed their mutual interest in implementing joint initiatives in the field of social, pedagogical and psychological work.
During the visit, the ENU delegation visited the Yakub Kolas State Literary and Memorial Museum. The visit was timed to coincide with participation in an international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the poem "Simon Music" and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The work "Simon Music" received a response in Kazakh culture thanks to the translation of the outstanding poet Kalizhan Bekkhozhin. In 2023, at the ninth meeting of the Consortium, the Kazakhstani-Belarusian Scientific and Technical Center was named after the Belarusian classic Yakub Kolas. In 2025, Maria Eric graduated from The L.N. Gumilyov ENU, successfully defended her graduation thesis on translations of Kolas into English with the support of the materials provided by the Belarusian classic great-granddaughter of the writer Vasilina Kolos. This strengthens cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Belarus and preserves the heritage for the younger generation.
