
Scientists from the Kazan National Research Technological University - at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University







On November 12, 2025, during the strengthening of Kazakh-Russian relations, scholars from the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) visited L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. KNRTU is included in the Times Higher Education World University rankings (among 103 universities included), the QS World University Rankings 2023 (among 47 universities included), and the Round University Ranking (67th out of 131). The KNRTU delegation was led by Professor Aleksey Ivanovich Shinkevich, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Honorary Worker of Education of the Russian Federation, and Head of the Department of Logistics and Management at KNRTU.
An expanded roundtable discussion on «Sustainable Development and Best Available Technologies» was held at the Department of “Economics and Entrepreneurship” of the Faculty of Economics at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Bibigul Isayeva, Head of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship and professor Urpash Shalbolova served as moderators. The roundtable discussed the use of a cluster approach in the economy of Kazakhstan and the development of the petrochemical and mechanical engineering industries in Kazakhstan and Tatarstan. Alexey Shinkevich detailed areas of strategic cooperation in resource and energy conservation and innovative development programs in the industrial sector. Professor Svetlana Kudryavtseva discussed opportunities for developing international transport corridors in Eurasia with doctoral students from the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship. Professor Tatyana Malysheva spoke about bioeconomy and green economy projects. Professor Marina Shinkevich explored one of the most interesting areas of modern economics – the physical internet and the ethical issues of artificial intelligence.
At the end of the discussion, Urpash Shalbolova, a professor in the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship, summarized sustainable development trends in Tatarstan and Kazakhstan. During the discussion, university staff and doctoral students developed common areas for further collaboration on green energy, best available technologies, and artificial intelligence.
