
A large-scale hackathon with leading IT companies of Kazakhstan was held in ENU

More than 10 of the country’s largest IT employers, dozens of real-world cases and hundreds of talented students – a career hackathon was held at The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event became a direct path for students to internships and employment in the leaders of the Kazakhstani IT industry.
The organizers were: Mathematical and Computer Modeling Department together with the Information Systems Department with the support of ENU’s Career and Business Partnership Department.
The hackathon’s partners were industry flagships: KMG Engineering, Atyrau Techinvest, ERG, EPAM Systems-ADNOC, CJSC NIIT, PROPER SOLUTIONS, Transtelecom, DevTops, etc. Representatives of the companies personally assessed the potential of future specialists.
The event became a practical platform where students solved applied tasks set by representatives of leading IT companies in Kazakhstan: Talgatek Bazarbekov (KM Engineering), Makhmud Seilkhanov (Atyrau TechInvest), Almat Uakhitov (ERG), Adil Dauletkhan (EPAM Systems-ADNOC), Islambek Zhussupov (CJSC NIIT), Olzhas Murtazin and Dulat Sabyrbayev (PROPER SOLUTIONS), Vitaly Kalinin and Yerzhan Makhanov (Transtelecom), Timur Koshkinbayev (DevTops) and Mukhtar Beisenov (EPAM Systems).
The main goal of the hackathon was to select talented participants for internships and internships with the prospect of further employment. This format allowed employers to appreciate the real skills and potential of future specialists.
Students of The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and The S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University solved applied problems from companies, working on projects in the field of web development, data analysis and software engineering. The best of them were selected for internships.
The hackathon confirmed the high demand for our graduates, bringing together a record number of partners - the largest IT companies in Kazakhstan.
As a result of the event, the winners and prize-winners received not only monetary rewards and prizes from partners, but also internship and employment offers.
The main result for all participants was a steady interest in further professional growth and a conscious desire to improve their educational level in order to be in demand in the country’s leading companies.
