ENU’s Lu Ban workshop has been accredited
A meeting of the commission for the accreditation of the Lu Ban Workshop was held today at The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The meeting was held in an online format with the participation of Gulmira Bekmanova, ENU Vice-Rector for Digitalization, representatives of relevant departments, the Ministry of Education and Science of China, as well as heads and specialists of the Tianjin Vocational Institute.
The Lu Ban Workshop is a project aimed at developing innovation and technology in our country. More specifically, it is an innovative educational platform that promotes cooperation between Kazakhstani and Chinese enterprises, the exchange of experience in the field of vocational education, the development of technical talents, as well as the expansion of opportunities for Kazakhstani youth in employment and career growth.
The workshop area of 572 sq. m is in operation. Artificial intelligence technologies will be used here. The project is being implemented within the framework of cooperation between ENU and Tianjin Vocational Institute. Students will be able to receive practical training at the university.
This summer, ENU sent 15 teachers to the Chinese city of Tianjin for special training in the workshops of Lu Ban. They completed a month-long intensive course and returned with valuable experience in modern engineering training. Now, having improved their qualifications, teachers will teach students in areas of subjects that include advanced technology modules such as computer vision, industrial robot control, large-scale data models and large-scale applications of agricultural drones.
According to the university’s management, at the next stage, the Chinese side will send professors and highly qualified specialists to ENU to organize large-scale training programs for our teachers. This is an important step that will ensure that Lu Ban workshops meet international accreditation requirements.
Vice-Rector Gulmira Bekmanova stressed that the accreditation of the Lu Ban Workshop is a strategically important area for the university, as the initiative helps ENU adapt to global trends, improve the quality of engineering education, develop scientific publications and international collaborations.
"I am sure that the Lu Ban workshop at ENU will strengthen the international image of the university and raise the professional level of our teachers to a new height. As for today’s accreditation, it is one of the key international requirements," Vice-Rector said.
At the end of the meeting, the accreditation commission unanimously praised the workshop of Lu Ban in ENU.
