ENU Hosted the Republican Student Olympiad in the Educational Program Group “B052 – Earth Science”

On 18–19 November 2025, the Department of Physical and Economic Geography of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University held the Republican Student Olympiad in the educational program group “B052 – Earth Science.” This year, 10 teams from various regions of Kazakhstan took part in the competition.

Participants competed in three official stages: “Introduction,” “Testing and Practical Tasks,” and “Scientific Project.” Throughout the competition, students demonstrated strong academic knowledge, analytical abilities, and research skills in the field of geography.

According to the final results, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University took 1st place. The 2nd place was shared by L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Buketov Karaganda National Research University. The 3rd place went to al-Farabi Kazakh National University, M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University, and Toraighyrov University. The remaining universities received special nomination awards.

The ENU team earned an honorable 2nd place, demonstrating excellent preparation. The team consisted of supervisor Meruert Musabayeva and students Tolkynkyzy T., Tileukhan D.G., Aykenov A.N. The department extends its appreciation to the supervisor for high-quality preparation and to the students for representing the university with distinction.

The university’s ombudsperson, Nelya Shapekova, provided support in organizing and conducting the Olympiad.

The Olympiad served as an important platform for the professional development of young geographers, strengthening inter-university cooperation, and enhancing scientific capacity.
