L.N. Gumilyov ENU Held the Autumn School “Digital Humanities | The Meeting Point of Humans and Technology”

On November 5–6, 2025, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted an autumn school dedicated to modern digital tools in the humanities and social sciences. The event brought together students, young researchers, faculty members, and industry representatives. The school was organized by the Laboratory for Analytical and Sociological Research of the Quality Assessment Department in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and with the support of the Kazakhstan Sociology Lab.
The program included more than ten lectures and practical workshops delivered by leading experts from Kazakhstan and Russia.
On the first day, participants discussed the transformation of the social sciences under the influence of digital technologies: from the reasons behind the rapid growth of computational social science to the principles of modern neural networks and the analysis of state digital policies.
On the second day, the focus shifted to large language models, network analysis, and new approaches to media communications. Speakers demonstrated how LLMs can be used in social research, reviewed key fact-checking methods, and introduced participants to network analysis tools.
