A meeting was held at the Eurasian National University with Tolkyn Shagdarova, chief expert of the Astana branch of the Center for Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Institute of Forensic Expertise. The event was organized by ENU’s Career and Business Partnership Office.
The main purpose of the meeting was to familiarize students with the activities of the Center for Forensic Expertise, to inform students about the requirements for practical internships and opportunities for further employment.
During the meeting, the chief expert spoke in detail to the 4th year students of the faculties of Law and Philology and the 2nd year undergraduates about the main tasks of the institute and the prospects for its development.
According to Tolkyn Shagdarova, about 15,000 forensic examinations are conducted annually in Astana alone. The Institute has a specialized department on drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, and conditions have been created for vehicle research. The Institute offers numerous types of expertise.
"The institute has departments for forensic medical examination, a forensic histological laboratory, a chemical and toxicological laboratory, a department of complex examinations, a laboratory for molecular genetic research, a forensic biological laboratory, a forensic psychological and philological examination, a forensic religious examination and other centers. Among these departments, we especially lack specialists in the areas of psychological, philological and psychological-criminalistic research. Therefore, I invite you to practice with us in the future," Tolkyn Shagdarova noted.
At the end of the meeting, the students asked their questions about forensic examination and received comprehensive answers. Bakdaulet Toregeldiyev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, expressed gratitude to the Chief Expert of the Institute of Forensic Examinations for the informative lecture.
