
ENU has officially received the honorary right to host the second QS Eurasia Forum



















On November 25, the first QS Eurasia Forum on "Expanding Horizons: Developing International Cooperation in Higher Education" was held at Central Asia University in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The main news of the forum was that The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University was solemnly awarded the right to host the second QS Eurasia Forum in 2026. Nunzio Quacquarelli, President of Quacquarelli Symonds and Chairman of the Board of Directors, presented ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov with an official QS certificate.
This significant decision represents the recognition of ENU as one of the key universities in the Eurasian region and confirms its growing international authority. The passing of the baton was the culmination of the event and highlighted the high level of trust from the global academic community. ENU has won this right among universities throughout the region, which opens up new opportunities for the university in the field of global partnership, academic exchange and scientific diplomacy.
The event was attended by representatives of universities in Eurasia, Southeast Asia and Arab countries, international experts in the field of education and heads of ministries. On behalf of ENU, Rector of the University Yerlan Sydykov and Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Duman Aitmagambetov participated in the forum as part of the Kazakhstani delegation.
In his speech, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, drew attention to the transformation of the global higher education system and highlighted the unique opportunities of Central Asia.:
"Today, the global higher education system is undergoing massive changes. Our region is a young, fast – growing and promising center. Artificial intelligence is changing the economy and the education system, so we must be prepared for these changes. To use the new opportunities, we need to work together," Minister said.
In addition, Nunzio Quacquarelli, President of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, representatives of the higher education system and international experts spoke during the event.
During the plenary sessions and panel discussions, participants discussed the introduction of artificial intelligence into educational programs, the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market, international partnership strategies, new trends in student academic mobility, and preparations for the QS World University Rankings.
