Day 9 of the "Decade of Economics and Entrepreneurship" Intellectual and educational game "I am a leader"

On 27 November 2025, the intellectual and educational competition “I am a Leader” was held at the Faculty of Economics of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University as part of the Economy and Entrepreneurship Decade. The event aimed to develop students’ analytical thinking, argumentation skills, ability to work in teams, and capacity to apply economic knowledge in both practical and creative formats.
Six student teams took part in the competition: “Auditors”, “Mind Spark”, “Erudit”, “Kazhymukan’s Wolves”, “Tool IK,” and “Brainflow”. Participants were required to complete six rounds, which included a creative team introduction, an economics quiz, logical problem-solving, a captains’ contest, an analysis of current economic challenges, and a theatrical interpretation of economic processes. This structure allowed for a comprehensive assessment of students’ theoretical preparation, their ability to make quick decisions, justify their positions, and demonstrate creativity.
Throughout the competition, students demonstrated confident command of economic concepts, the ability to process large amounts of information within limited time frames, and the capacity to structure and present their own solutions. A high level of teamwork was also evident: many teams effectively distributed roles, supported their peers, and adhered to a unified approach in completing the tasks. The event proved significant in terms of educational integration. Participation enabled students to apply knowledge gained in academic courses to new contexts and non-standard formats, contributing to the strengthening of interdisciplinary competencies and the development of practice-oriented economic thinking. This combination of theory and practice is an essential component of training future professionals in the field of economics.
Faculty members of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship evaluated the results. Based on the overall scoring across all rounds, the team “Kazhymukan’s Wolves” was declared the winner of the competition, demonstrating high consistency and strong performance at every stage. The “I am a Leader” competition reaffirmed the value of such educational formats for enhancing the professional competencies of future economists, increasing students’ interest in analytical work, and strengthening their public communication skills. First-year doctoral students of the Economics program organized the competition. The event concluded with the awarding of the Winner’s Cup and certificates of participation to all teams.
