"Ancient Turkic written monuments are inscriptions of the V-X centuries containing valuable information about the history, culture and literature of the ancient Turks. It was scientists such as the outstanding Turkologist Nemat Kelimbetov who deeply studied these inscriptions, determined their content and meaning, and also brought ancient poetic texts to our days," Sherubai Kurmanbayuly, moderator of the conference said.
The presentation of the book "Turkic Financial and Commercial Vocabulary", which is a historical and comparative study, took place within the framework of the conference. The publication analyzes the terms and names of the financial and economic sphere – from ancient and medieval Turkic written monuments to modern Turkic languages. In addition, the book mainly includes native Turkic words used in modern Kazakh financial and economic terminology. Along with them, early borrowings from Arabic, Persian, Mongolian, Chinese and Russian are considered, indicating their original meanings.
The international conference provided an opportunity to rethink the ancient Turkic written monuments and the history of the Turkic languages, determine the role of Nemat Kelimbetov in the development of Turkology, literary studies and research of the Turkic worldview, strengthen the linguistic and cultural unity of the Turkic world, and identify areas for improving the teaching methods of philological disciplines.
