
“Experience in Applying International Preschool Quality Assessment Scales and Developing Students’ Professional Competence”
Professor Saira Nagashibayevna Zhienbayeva from the Higher School of Education, Department of Pedagogy, conducted the final assessment for the course “Evaluation of the Quality of Preschool Education” in the format of a poster gallery defense, thereby demonstrating the students’ learning outcomes.The students analyzed and compared their knowledge of international quality assessment scales such as ITERS-3, FCCERS, SACERS, CLASS, ECERS-R, and ECERS-3, studied international practices, and presented recommendations on the prospects for improving the quality of education in our country.In particular, using the ECERS-3 scale, they presented examples from the organization of the learning environment at the “Altyn Urpaq” kindergarten in Astana, illustrating indicators and measurement criteria across the subscales.Within the course “Methods of Speech Development,” the students created their own animated films, developing storylines and integrating elements of modeling (clay crafting) into the production process.Animated film director Abdykadır Sabyr was invited as an evaluator and reviewer of the students’ works. The students’ theoretical and practical preparation for their future profession, along with their creativity, research skills, and ability to independently design educational products, demonstrate the formation of strong professional competencies and serve as a foundation for their successful development as specialists.
