
ENU students became holders of nominal scholarships
Today, personal scholarships were awarded to first-year students of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU from Ulytau region. The initiative was shown during the signing of a memorandum between ENU and the regional akimat by patrons who are from this region.
ENU students of the Faculty of Information Technologies Dinmukhamed Mukhatayev, the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science Akbota Yessenkabyl, the Faculty of History Yerassyl Sovet are now holders of scholarships named after Azhibek Seilov, Kamal Smaiylov, Gibadulla Zhakenov.
Serik Makysh, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU noted:
“In the summer of 2023, a memorandum was signed between the Eurasian National University and the Akimat of Ulytau region. The document indicates the contribution of university scientists to the development of the region. This year, the government allocated 73 grants for students of the Ulytau region, most of them chose ENU.
We believe that the holders of these scholarships will justify their hopes and make a valuable contribution to the development of their native land.”
The scholarship competition was held from September 11 to September 30. The participants had to write an essay on the topic “Digital Ulytau”.
As the chairman of the organizing committee of the competition for nominal scholarships Mukhambet Kopeyev noted, this event has a high symbolic meaning and it characterizes the continuity of generations. The public figure stressed the importance of love for the motherland, veneration of historical figures, and called to keep to the tradition of establishing nominal scholarships for students in the future.
According to Sapura Tulekova, head of the Department of Education of Ulytau region, this initiative is a good opportunity for students. She also made a proposal for further cooperation between the Akimat of the region and ENU in the field of teacher training, tourism development, entrepreneurship and new technologies.
The scholarship holder, 1st year student of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science Akbota Yessenkabyl said that her competition essay is devoted to environmental problems of her native land, such as water pollution.
“I am grateful to the founders of the nominal scholarships to ENU students. Such initiatives on the part of patrons motivate young people to take responsibility for education. I hope my ideas will serve for the benefit of the development of my native region,” the ENU student shared.
