From December 15 to 20, 2025, the second cohort of professional training for social workers was successfully conducted at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The program was implemented by the Institute of Continuing Education under the commission of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
More than 120 social workers took part in the training, including representatives of regional departments, social adaptation centers, and support services for vulnerable population groups.
The training was delivered by senior lecturers of the Department of Sociology, Ayazhan Kuatova and Zhuldyz Sembina. Within the framework of the second cohort, special emphasis was placed on practice-oriented learning using case studies relevant to the modern social protection system of Kazakhstan.
During the training, participants examined issues of professional ethics of social workers, mechanisms of interagency cooperation, modern models of social support for the population, as well as priority areas for the development of social policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As a result of the course, participants not only systematized their theoretical knowledge and updated their understanding of the regulatory and legal framework of social work, but also mastered tools for needs assessment, case management, and professional family counseling.
The implementation of the second training cohort confirmed the high demand for the programs of the Institute of Continuing Education of L.N. Gumilyov ENU and their significance for the development of the professional capacity of social workers and the system of lifelong learning in Kazakhstan.
