
ENU and the JSC “Kaspersky Lab” now have a joint training laboratory

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the JSC “Kaspersky Lab”, an international company for the development of software solutions for cyber security, in accordance with the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation in the Field of Education and Cyber Security, held a conference for students “Kaspersky Cyberday”. Within the framework of this event, the training laboratory “Integrated Security of Critical Information Infrastructure” of the Faculty of Information Technologies was founded jointly with the JSC “Kaspersky Lab” and the Research Institute of Information Security and Cryptology.
For effective training of highly qualified specialists, the JSC “Kaspersky Lab” provides teachers and students of the Information Security Department with free access to authorized training courses, textbooks, free licenses for the company’s software products, as well as methodological materials and consultations necessary for mastering professional competencies in demand in the labor market in the new laboratory.
ENU jointly with the JSC “Kaspersky Lab” has prepared a roadmap for long-term cooperation and the phased granting of licenses for Kaspersky Lab commercial products in order to train and retrain specialists in the field of industrial cyber security, expand the forms of cooperation between the academic community and the IT industry.
At the initial stage, Kaspersky Academy provided educational resources for free: “Entry Level” and “Fundamentals” for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students of the Information Security Department. These resources are hosted on the Moodle platform, students have started studying courses offered by Kaspersky Academy by logging in to enu.kz.
Also, as part of the cooperation agreement, Kaspersky Lab has provided free licenses to the Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform (ASAP) for advanced training of teachers. At the next stage, it is planned to train students on the ASAP platform, an online course on cyber security for IT specialists (CITO) and the provision of free licenses for software products “Total Security” and “Kaspersky Unified Monitoring and Analysis Platform (KUMA)”.
Students of other education programs of the Faculty of Information Technology can study on the basis of the new ENU laboratory.
