ENU Obtains ISO 14001:2016 Certification

The Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University” successfully completed the certification process and obtained a certificate of conformity of its Environmental Management System with the requirements of the international standard ST RK ISO 14001:2016.

The organizational support of the certification audit process was provided by the Center for Sustainable Development, which ensured coordination and interaction among the University’s structural divisions during the preparation and conduct of the audit.

The certification audit was carried out by the certification body Capital Management LLP in two stages. The first stage included a review of the Environmental Management System documentation and an assessment of the University’s readiness for the on-site audit. As a result, no nonconformities preventing progression to the second stage were identified.

The second stage of the certification audit was conducted from November 27 to December 5, 2025, and included interviews with management and staff, document review, as well as observation of the functioning of processes and operations within the University’s structural divisions. The audit assessed the management of environmental aspects, compliance with legislative and other mandatory requirements, risk and opportunity management, internal audits, and corrective actions.

Based on the audit results, it was concluded that the University’s Environmental Management System complies with the requirements of ISO 14001:2016, operates effectively, and is focused on continuous improvement of environmental performance. No major or minor nonconformities were identified.

Obtaining this certificate confirms L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University’s commitment to the principles of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and the implementation of international management standards in its educational and administrative activities.
