
International Winter School «Innovations in Language Education» ENU





















From January 5 to January 16, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology at L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University organized the International Winter School “Innovations in Language Education.” The event was held in a hybrid format (offline and online) and brought together teachers, researchers, and practitioners from Kazakhstan, Russia, India, and the United Kingdom.
The aim of the Winter School was to discuss current trends and innovative approaches in language education, foster professional dialogue, and exchange experience in the fields of linguodidactics, inclusive and interdisciplinary education, as well as the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence into foreign language teaching.
Leading national and international scholars and practitioners took part in the Winter School. Among the speakers were Tanat Ayapova, Doctor of Philology, Professor at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Head of the development of national educational standards and English language textbooks for schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Founder of the public association Kazakhstan Society of Women Scientists, and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Science. Woman. Society; Nursulu Buketova, Doctor of Philology, Professor at E. A. Buketov Karaganda National Research University, member of the Kazakh PEN Club and the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Meenu Bhatnagar, Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), Secretary General of the Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature; Natalya Zhumagulova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies at Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University; Alfiya Kitibayeva, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor at E. A. Buketov Karaganda University; Malika Aimagambetova, PhD, Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; Felicia Bulus, representative of RUDN University (Moscow); Manshuk Eskindirova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation at L. N. Gumilyov ENU; Elena Pivovarova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at Voronezh State University; Lidiya Vitruk, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies; Joseph Sheikh, PhD, Regional Director of Prime Plus Training (United Kingdom); Philip Montgomery, PhD, Researcher at Nazarbayev University; and Larisa Kuzmina, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Translation and Professional Communication at Voronezh State University.
Within the framework of lectures, seminars, and master classes, participants discussed issues related to communicative and linguocultural approaches, inclusive education, interdisciplinary projects, academic reading, audiovisual translation, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in language education and academic research.
The International Winter School “Innovations in Language Education” became an important platform for professional communication, exchange of scholarly and methodological ideas, and confirmed the relevance of innovative approaches in contemporary language education.
