The Foundation Unit Implemented a Comprehensive Program for the Adaptation of International Foundation Program Participants

Over the course of the semester, the Foundation Unit carried out work on the socio-cultural and academic adaptation of 346 international Foundation program participants enrolled for the 2025–2026 academic year. The academic year traditionally began with an orientation week, during which the participants became familiar with the university’s internal regulations, academic buildings, library, and structural units.
Special attention in the work of the Foundation Unit was paid to issues of legal responsibility of foreign nationals, law-abiding behavior, and personal safety. Awareness-raising activities were conducted within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle, including meetings with representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as thematic lectures and discussions aimed at preventing legal violations.
Activities of a spiritual and moral nature occupied a significant place in the adaptation and educational work. The participants took part in events dedicated to Republic Day and Independence Day, as well as thematic meetings, lectures, and round tables. Familiarization with cultural values was carried out through excursions to the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attendance of theatrical performances, and participation in cultural and educational activities organized by the Foundation Unit teaching staff.
An important component of the adaptation process was the active involvement of Foundation program participants in the university’s sports and social life. The participants took part in the traditional university sports competition alongside first-year students and, as a result of the competitions, won prize places, confirming their successful integration into the university community.
Motivational meetings with ethnic Kazakhs who have achieved a high level of professional and academic recognition, including scholars educated at our university, played a special role in the educational work.
The work carried out by the Foundation Unit has made an important contribution to the university’s efforts to prepare motivated and academically oriented future students.
