
French Language and Culture Center opened in ENU











The ceremonial opening of the French Language and Culture Center took place at The Eurasian National University. The event is dedicated to the university’s 30th anniversary.
The meeting was attended by Rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU Yerlan Sydykov, representatives of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan - Damien Michel, an employee of the diplomatic office, and Sebastien de Courtois, Adviser on Culture and Cooperation, as well as Duman Aitmagambetov, Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization, deans of faculties, scientists and students.
Congratulating the participants on the landmark event, Rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU Yerlan Sydykov noted that the opening of the center would mark a major milestone in the university's development.
"In the modern world, the French language plays an important role in the system of international relations. For our students, French language proficiency opens up new opportunities for professional and academic growth, participation in international programs and research projects. The center will become an educational base for more than 200 students studying French at ENU. We also consider the Center as a platform for the development of academic mobility, strengthening international relations and the formation of an open, multicultural academic community," Rector of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU Yerlan Sydykov said.
The students will be taught French by highly qualified teachers of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, who have completed internships in Nice and Bordeaux and possess international DELF certificates.
In turn, the Adviser on Culture and Cooperation at the Embassy, Sebastien de Courtois, focused on the strong and long-standing diplomatic relations between France and Kazakhstan, adding that the creation of such a center further strengthens cultural and educational ties between the states. He highly appreciated the role of universities in training leading specialists who become agents of dialogue between countries.
The ENU consistently forms a multilingual educational environment, within which today the university successfully operates more than 10 centers and clubs for the study of foreign languages and cultures.
The development of a multilingual educational environment allows ENU to be a reliable and sought-after partner for leading universities in France. Today, ENU is actively developing academic cooperation with 11 universities in France in the field of academic mobility, in the implementation of joint research projects, in the field of training international specialists, as well as the exchange of scientific and academic personnel.
