Gift a Book from the Heart” Event Held at the Academic Library

On the occasion of International Book Giving Day, a festive event titled “Donate a Book to the Library” was held at the Academic Library. This meaningful tradition has been organized annually by the library. This year, the event’s concept was updated, focusing on enriching the library collection and widely promoting a culture of book giving among readers.
The library director, B. Orazaliyev, noted that the main goal of the initiative is to encourage reading, promote a reading culture among students, and emphasize the importance of books as an important spiritual value.
During the event, gratitude was expressed to entrepreneur Yerlan Ashim, founder of the “Kasym” publishing house in Karaganda, for donating two copies of the 26-volume collected works of the prominent Kazakh literary writer M.Magauin to the library.
The event was attended by writers and poets — Bakhyt Rustemov, Kanat Omar, Dina Oraz, and Olzhas Kassym — who donated books they had brought with them to the Scientific Library’s collection.
Additionally, ENU scholar and professor A. Baiarystan encouraged young people to read, stating that books are spiritual nourishment and a reliable companion. He mentioned that he had previously donated his four-volume work “Higher Mathematics” to the library and this time presented the novel “Daraboz” by Kazakh writer K. Zhumadilov as a gift.
At the end of the celebration, winners of the essay competition “The Library that Leads to Science,” organized by the Academic Library in honor of the university’s 30th anniversary, were awarded.
