Meeting of the Political Club “Agora”: An Intergenerational Dialogue on Constitutional Reforms and the Philosophy of Hyperreality

On February 16, 2026, the political club “Agora” held its regular meeting, which this time went beyond its usual student format. The event opened with a traditional news briefing by Isina Almira, who provided an in-depth analysis of key current events, setting a dynamic and critical tone for the entire session.
Erden Amangeldi then delivered a presentation on constitutional amendments and the institution of the referendum. His report sparked considerable interest among the audience in the issues of legal transformation within the state.
The official part concluded with Ivan Orlichenko’s presentation titled “Jean Baudrillard: Hyperreality and Simulacra.” The discussion of how media images substitute reality itself became a conceptual bridge to the main highlight of the evening — the meeting with our distinguished guests.
At this session, Agora welcomed representatives of the older generation from the “Silver University,” which made the discussion truly unique. The introduction between students and participants of the Silver University proved to be lively and highly productive: young people and wise mentors did not merely exchange opinions but engaged in a genuine intergenerational dialogue.
The discussion of referendums and Baudrillard’s philosophical concepts evolved into a series of vivid debates and profound reflections, where students’ academic knowledge was enriched by the guests’ vast life experience.
After the official program, participants continued their conversations in an informal setting, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The evening demonstrated that a shared interest in the country’s future and in the search for truth can erase generational boundaries, making the meeting not only intellectually stimulating but also deeply inspiring on a human level.
