
Career Guidance Meeting: Opportunities in Archaeology and Ethnology

On February 18, 2026, a career guidance meeting was held at School-Lyceum No. 84 with the participation of G.T. Kazhenova, Candidate of Historical Sciences and representative of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. During the meeting, students were introduced to the educational opportunities and research activities offered by the university.
The Department was presented as one of the leading centers in Kazakhstan for training specialists in archaeology and ethnology. Special attention was given to its achievements, including the involvement of students and faculty in research projects, archaeological expeditions, international conferences, and academic mobility programs at leading universities worldwide.

Students learned about real archaeological excavations, laboratory analysis of artifacts, and academic programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Career prospects for graduates were also highlighted, ranging from research institutes and museums to positions in government institutions.
The students showed strong interest in historical and archaeological fields and actively engaged by asking questions. Such events contribute to the popularization of science and help prospective applicants make informed decisions about their future careers.
