Integration of School and University in the System of Pedagogical Education

An educational and methodological seminar entitled “200 Years Since the Birth of M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin” was held at Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 22, dedicated to the anniversary of the classic Russian writer Mikhail Yevgrafovich Saltykov-Shchedrin. The event was organized and conducted jointly with the Department of Russian Philology of the Faculty of Philology.
The purpose of the seminar was to discuss modern approaches to teaching Russian literature, to search for effective methodological tools for working with literary texts, and to demonstrate the results of project-based activities carried out by students undergoing teaching practice at the school.
The Deputy Director for Research of the school delivered Ishanova A.A a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of fruitful cooperation between the department and the school.
The seminar moderator, R. K. Dyusembekova, a teacher of Russian language and literature and a researcher-teacher, highlighted the relevance of Saltykov-Shchedrin’s creative heritage in shaping students’ moral values.
Rakhimova.А.К, a teacher of Russian language and literature and researcher-teacher, presented an overview of Saltykov-Shchedrin’s works from the perspective of their study in literature classes and their relevance for modern school students.
The seminar program included the following presentations:
– “ICT Competencies in Education: Conscious Use of Digital Technologies in the Learning Process,” in which a young teacher of the school and graduate of the Department of Russian Philology, N. E. Tazhina, revealed the possibilities of integrating digital resources into the structure of a modern literature lesson.
– The report by Senior Lecturer M. E. Zhapanova, “Plots and Images of the Novel ‘The Golovlyov Family’ by M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin in the Interpretation of M. O. Auezov,” was devoted to the interaction of literatures and the dialogue between Russian and Kazakh cultures.
– Particular interest was aroused by the presentation of Senior Lecturer D. E. Tolbayeva, “Fact-Checking as a Form of Independent Work in Russian Literature Lessons.” Its exceptional relevance was emphasized in the context of rapid media development and the digitalization of the educational environment.
A special place in the program was given to the presentations of fourth-year students majoring in “Russian Language and Literature,” who are currently undergoing teaching practice at the school. Student trainees Gulzhaina Sandigalieva and Yerkeaiym Bakhytbek presented a book trailer based on Saltykov-Shchedrin’s fairy tales. The project was fully developed, edited, and voiced independently by the students. It was distinguished by a logically structured composition, a well-written script, expressive artistic design, and a high level of technical performance. In their opinion, the use of media technologies allows classical works to be presented in a modern format and increases students’ interest in reading.
Andrey Tereshko and Tatyana Shubina demonstrated elements of a publishing project implemented in literature lessons and aimed at developing students’ creative potential and fostering sustained motivation to study the subject.
The students demonstrated a high level of theoretical and methodological competence. Their participation in the scientific and methodological seminar indicates the formation of professional skills and readiness for independent pedagogical activity.
Undoubtedly, such events contribute to strengthening cooperation between the university and educational institutions, improving the quality of training for future teachers, and developing their research competencies.
