Guest lecture "Ethnic diversity and social harmony in modern Kazakhstan"

On February 19, 2026, a guest lecture on "Ethnic diversity and social harmony in modern Kazakhstan" was held for students of the 1-3 courses of the educational program "Archeology, Ethnology and Anthropology". The speaker was the deputy chairman of the ethnocultural association of the Tatar-Bashkir center "Tan" Sadykov S.P. The event was attended by the faculty of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology and students.
During the lecture, issues of the formation of a multiethnic society in Kazakhstan, mechanisms for maintaining interethnic harmony, the role of ethno-cultural associations in preserving national identity and developing the cultural diversity of the country were discussed. Special attention was paid to the activities of public organizations within the framework of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, as well as modern forms of cultural interaction in the context of globalization and digitalization.
The Tatar-Bashkir National Cultural Center "Tan" was established in 1994 with the aim of developing the self-awareness of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan of Tatar and Bashkir origin, preserving and popularizing national languages, traditions and cultural heritage. The Center actively participates in cultural and educational events, educational initiatives, festivals and interethnic projects aimed at strengthening social harmony.

The students showed keen interest in the topic of the lecture, asked questions about the preservation of ethno-cultural identity in modern conditions, about the interaction of young people of different nationalities, as well as about opportunities to participate in public and cultural projects.
The event helped to broaden the professional horizons of future archaeologists and ethnologists, and allowed them to consider issues of ethnic diversity not only from a historical, but also from an actual socio-cultural perspective.
